The Emmys come only but once a year. And this year's looks to be more diverse than ever, comedy wise that is. The usual suspects like Veep are there but then newcomers like Samantha Bee and Pamela Aldon join the fun. The Emmys air on Sunday, September 17th at 8 PM. Stephen Colbert will host so we know who's not winning his award...(jk I don't know).
Pamela Aldon’s Louis C.K.-produced show is coming to FX this fall
Pamela Aldon’s appearances on Louie (R.I.P) were always the best the series had to offer and equally cringe inducing. Remember that time they tried to date but she really, really wasn’t into it? Now, the show they co-created together will bow on September 8 on FX. Deadline reported the news of Better Things from the Awardline Emmy meeting during which an episode of C.K.’s other show Horace and Pete was aired. The show follows a single mother of three and is also an actress. C.K. stated he’d never seen this type of woman character on television before. He’s obviously forgetting Joyce Summers (Buffy), Christine Campbell (New Adventures of Old Christine), Susan Meyer (Desperate Housewives) but who’s counting. Aldon and C.K. wrote the pilot.
Louis C.K. has a few more tour dates, Madison Square Gardens and Europe included
Remember that time Louis C.K. sold out Madison Square Garden? Well, he's about to do it again. C.K. announced new tour dates yesterday which included Thursday, September 8th and Monday September 12th. This expands C.K.'s initial tour was from May to June but now, it's going through to the middle of September. He's even going over seas to London, Prague, Dublin, Paris and Amsterdam. Hopefully, this tour can pay for the next season of Horace and Pete. Here's the full list on C.K.'s site.
Louis C.K. has a new web series (short?) featuring Steve Buscemi, Alan Alda and more
Boy, Louis C.K. sure does love to work. While taking a break from his FX series, the few movies he's done and producing a handful of other TV shows for FX, C.K. made a new web series called Horace & Pete for his fans. The first episode -- and what I presume may be the only episode -- was released unexpectedly to the world via C.K.'s website. It's a monster and runs about 67 minutes. The cast feature C.K. and Steve Buscemi as two guys who run a century old Brooklyn bar. The supporting cast features big names like Alan Alda, Jessica Lange, Edie Falco, Aidy Bryant, Nick DiPaolo, Steven Wright, Kurt Metzger, and others. Who knows when the second episode will drop. It could be this week or next year. Louis is one finicky man. The first episode of Horace & Pete will only run you five dollars so check it out.
