The Emmys come only but once a year. And this year's looks to be more diverse than ever, comedy wise that is. The usual suspects like Veep are there but then newcomers like Samantha Bee and Pamela Aldon join the fun. The Emmys air on Sunday, September 17th at 8 PM. Stephen Colbert will host so we know who's not winning his award...(jk I don't know).
'The Lego Batman Movie' trailer proves that the movie can't come out soon enough
I love superheroes. And I love superhero movies (even the trash like the Amazing Spiderman movies and Avengers). And I really like LEGO. Those worlds collided with many others in the fantastic film The LEGO Movie. Now, one of its stars is getting his own movie. Will Arnett stars as the titular LEGO Batman -- making him the 20th-ish person to play or voice the caped crusader. The trailer was released today alongside several pictures from earlier this week. It features a Batman that can beatbox, eat lobster and save the world. The film itself also features a robust cast with Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, and Zach Galifianakis as the Joker. What The LEGO Batman Movie aims to answer that no other movie has even tried is can Batman be happy? We'll have to find out when the movie comes out February 10, 2017.
Zach Galifianakis screams for Schweppes at a drive through in this 'Baskets' trailer
Hey did you know Louis C.K. is producing a show starring Zach Galifianakis and it's going to be on FX? Okay well now you do. The show is called Baskets and Galifianakis will produce alongside C.K. and Johnathan Krisel. Set to premiere next year, Baskets stars Galifianakis as Chip Baskets, a man who leaves his corporate job to become a clown. If that premise doesn't get you going, then nothing will. Look out for Baskets in January.
Go 'Beteween Two Ferns' with Brad Pitt, Special Stand Up Guest Louis C.K.
1990's teen hunk movie star Bradley Pittsworth made his web series debut this week with an appearance on Between Two Ferns. This is probably a way to promote his new film Fury, a war movie much in the vein of Saving Private Ryan or Toy Story 3. Oh, and Louis C.K. is there doing stand up at some point. He's like the Brad Pitt of comedy except looks are traded with comedic talent. But the real Brad Pitt is there. Double dose of the Pitt.
Jimmy Fallon and Zach Galifianakis are Trying to be Friends
Jimmy and Zach just can't seem to make it work. Friendships are hard and those two are the wackiest couple of friends around. Check out this sketch from last night's Tonight Show.
