The Emmys come only but once a year. And this year's looks to be more diverse than ever, comedy wise that is. The usual suspects like Veep are there but then newcomers like Samantha Bee and Pamela Aldon join the fun. The Emmys air on Sunday, September 17th at 8 PM. Stephen Colbert will host so we know who's not winning his award...(jk I don't know).
Hasan Minhaj joins Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis in a spy romcom
Hasan Minhaj is one of the best comedic talents working. Now, Deadline reports, the comedian has joined a high profile Lionsgate movie. The Spy Who Dumped Me stars Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis as two friends who get mixed up in spy business when Kunis's ex brings a trail of assassins to the women's apartment. Minhaj will take on the role of a CIA operative that's tracking the ladies. Susanna Fogel will direct the movie she cowrote with David Iserson. The Spy Who Dumped Me is set to release July 6, 2018.
Fred Armisen is closing out this seasons's SNL
Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen is bringing his weird, alternative comedy back to the SNL stage this weekend. Aussie rocker Courtney Barnett is the musical guest. In these final promos for season 41, Armisen is joined by breakout star Kate McKinnon who reminds Fred of how the show works.
