The Emmys come only but once a year. And this year's looks to be more diverse than ever, comedy wise that is. The usual suspects like Veep are there but then newcomers like Samantha Bee and Pamela Aldon join the fun. The Emmys air on Sunday, September 17th at 8 PM. Stephen Colbert will host so we know who's not winning his award...(jk I don't know).
Amazon and Jill Soloway's 'I Love Dick' premieres in May
Who loves Dick? Jill Soloway and Amazon do because their new show is coming sooner than we thought. I Love Dick stars Kathryn Hahn and Griffin Dune as an ailing couple that moves to Marfa, Texas so Dune can learn under professor Kevin Bacon's artist tutelage. The couple eventually falls for Bacon, leading to an odd sexual standoff between the two.
The show also features Roberta Colindrez, Adhir Kalyan and Phoebe Robinson. We reviewed Dick back in August and said its pilot was worth a watch. Amazon picked the show up in September alongside Jean Claude Van Johnson and a The Tick revival. Soloway also has a third show on the way with her Transparent writer Ethan Kuperberg.
