Ike Barinholtz and John Cena will make their starring debuts next to Leslie Mann in a new Kay Cannon comedy. That was a mouthful. It follows three parents who try to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on prom night. The movie is said to be produced by Point Grey (consisting of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver), Good Universe, Hurwitz & Schlossberg Productions, and DMG.
Exsqueeze me: The Mindy Project is now in syndication
Fans of rocky relationship sitcoms rejoice: The Mindy Project is now headed to syndication. VH1 and Freeform are the lucky dogs who scored the first five seasons of the Mindy Kaling led/created series. Starting in October, Deadline reports, fans new and old will be able to stream and catch reruns of classic episodes such as the one time Mindy got in a fight with Danny and the other time Mindy got in a fight with Danny. The show lived a rocky life on Fox, getting almost canceled for three years and eventually canceled after the third. Hulu picked it up and now the show is entering season five this October.
Ike Barinholtz is writing a book, due out in 2017
Books of semi-autobiographical essays are all the rage right now. Ike Barinholtz (The Awesomes, Meet the Spartans) is set to follow the trend with his own multichapter chronicle of his life and career in comedy. EW is reporting Barinholtzs' book was picked up by Grand Central Publishing and is set to include "a collection of hilarious essays." Disaster Movie star Barinholtz is excited about the announcement too:
The book will cover everything from Barinholtz's days as a Chicago street thug to heart-healthy crockpot recipes." And really, it's our comedians we should be getting recipes from, not those schmucks on Food Network. Barinholtz is currently on The Mindy Project and will be appearing in Sisters, Suicide Squad and Angry Birds. His book is due out in 2017.
