Comedy favorite Brett Gelman is starring in a movie he cowrote with writer/his wife Janicza Bravo. The movie is called Lemon and co-stars equally comedic favorites Judy Greer and Michael Cera. Variety says Gelman will star as a jobless actor trying to get his life together after being dumped by his blind girlfriend (Greer). The rest of the cast is stacked with Nia Long, Fred Melamed, Shiri Appleby, Rhea Perlman, David Paymer, Gillian Jacobs, Megan Mullally, Martin Starr, Jeff Garlin, and Marla Gibbs.
Patton Oswalt is playing a (probably) neurotic CEO in a Fox pilot that also stars Judy Greer
Watch out Fox, Patton Oswalt is coming for you. The comedian has already taken on CBS, FX and even Adult Swim. Now, EW reports that the Ratatouille star is tapped to join the always working Judy Greer in an upcoming pilot. Oswalt will be playing Sam, a new CEO that lives his life on a different level, especially on his ideas that seem to out of sorts for the small town plastics plant he works at. There's no telling if this will affect his narrating duties over on ABC's The Goldbergs (probably not). Greer's character is the head of human resources at the plastics plant who has to contend with her underlings and Oswalt's CEO. The new series is still yet to be titled and comes from Red Oaks' Laura Steinel while The League's Jeff Schaffer will direct.
Judy Greer has a ton of sex in 'Addicted to Fresno' trailer
Judy Greer has arguably had the best year in film. Appearing in all the mom roles for Tomorrowland, Jurassic World, and Ant Man have led to Greer starring in a movie about a sex addict trying to change her life -- not that the four instances are connect. Addicted to Fresno lets her have top billing all the while providing adequate amounts of onscreen sex. The movie also has Natasha Lyonne from that black oranges show on the Netflix. And the res of the supporting cast is stacked with Aubrey Plaza, Fred Armisen, Jessica St. Clair, Molly Shannon, Michael Hitchcock, and Ron Livingston. Addicted to Fresno premiered at SXSW to mixed reviews but you can decide how good (or bad) it is when it shows up on VOD on September 1st and in theaters on October 2nd.
FX Renews 'You're The Worst' and 'Married'; Shuttles 'You're The Worst' to the Forgotten FXX
FX decided it was best to renew the only two new comedy series it had this year that were worth watching. Stephen Falk's You're the Worst and the Judy Greer/Nat Faxon led Married have both been renewed for second 13-episode seasons. Married will remain at FX, while You're the Worst will move over to FXX next season where it will probably sink into nonexistence and die a slow but funny death.
