Jermaine Fowler's 'Superior Donuts' is going to repilot at CBS
CBS, with all of its ratings and wisdom, has decided to reorder the pilot for Superior Donuts, a show starring Jermaine Fowler. This is for midseason consideration of course. Deadline reports that Brian d'Arcy James is not continuing with the series but Maz Jobrani and David Koechner are still on board. We reported a few months ago that Fowler was working on something with CBS and he even mentioned it in our interview with him. CBS loves Fowler at the moment so all of this is completely understandable. Superior Donuts is about "the relationship between the owner of a donut shop (the role that is being recast), his new young employee (Fowler) and their patrons in a gentrifying neighborhood of Chicago."
Jermaine Fowler To Get Own TV Show On ABC
Comedian Jermaine Fowler is developing a semi-autobiographical television show for ABC.
THR reports that the untitled show has a script commitment with Fowler starring as a "college dropout who winds up living with his estranged grandmother, a former DC cop who provides the perfect mix of parenting, laughs and adventure that gets him off the couch and out into the world."
Fowler has appeared on numerous shows including @midnight and Guy Code. Currently, he does just about everything for TruTV's sketch comedy Friends of the People.
