One of Comedy Central's most successful shows of the past decade has to be the Chris Hardwick hosted, social media driven @midnight. It was funny from the get go and a good platform for comedians to get noticed. Sadly, an era of television is coming to an end.
As reported by Deadline, @midnight is ending after a 4 year, 600 episode run. The network, Hardwick and the show's producers came to the conclusion after seeing slight but consistent losses in the ratings (getting somewhere between 400,000-490,000 viewers and 250,000-300,000 adults 18-49 in each quarter the past two years.)
@midnight has been a good performer for Comedy Central. It's taken over the 11:30 PM timeslot from The Nightly Show, only to be replaced on and off by The President Show and reruns of other series.
