Amy Schumer and Keegan-Michael Key are set to star in Steve Martin's new broadway play

Get ready for the Meteor Shower because it's going to hit hard. Steve Martin wrote a play that will star some of comedy's favorite people right now. Amy Schumer, Keegan-Michael Key, Laura Benanti, and Alan Tudyk are set to star in Meteor Shower later this fall. Jerry Zaks will direct the show which will premiere Wednesday, November 1st, and opening night at the Booth Theatre is set for Wednesday, November 29th.

The synopsis of the play is below.

“It’s a hot night in Ojai, California, and Corky (Schumer) and her husband Norm (Tudyk) are having another couple over for dinner. Laura (Benanti) and Gerald (Key), though, aren’t looking for a casual evening of polite small talk with new friends. Eventually, the two couples find themselves in a marital free-fall matched in velocity and peril only by the smoldering space rocks tearing through the sky.”

Amy Schumer is also making a special for Netflix

Comedians who want to shoot specials and have a place to air it have it so easy compared to 15 years ago. Comedy Central, HBO and Showtime used to be the only channels for new specials and even then they only released a handful in total every year. Now outlets like Netflix, Seeso and even Audible are putting out several specials every week. 

Amy Schumer is the latest to join the Netflix fray with her newest special headed to the streamer on March 7. Deadline says it was taped on November 5 in Dever at Bellco Theater. Schumer, of course, had something funny to say on the situation: “Maybe now they will look at my “Stranger Things” audition tape to play the demogorgon for Season 2.”

Schumer's last special, Live at the Apollo, aired in 2015 on HBO. Her next project is a movie with Goldie Hawn called Snatched set to release in May.

Here are the 2017 Grammy Nominations for comedy

It's been a stand up year for comedy and the Grammys surely had a hard time picking out the best of the best. Dozens of specials and albums released but only a select few made it to the top. Amy Schumer was nominated for the audiobook version of The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo. Patton Oswalt was nominated because he's Patton Oswalt. And Carol Burnett was recognized for In Such Good Company: Eleven Years Of Laughter, Mayhem, And Fun In the Sandbox. James Corden takes the reigns of the Grammy Awards on February 12th on CBS. The comedy noms are below.

'Inside Amy Schumer' may not be a show anymore | UPDATE: jk lol

UPDATE: Schumer went back to Twitter to say the show is not canceled. However, there is no sign of the show coming back anytime soon. Looks like she's pulling a Louie.

Amy Schumer may have quit her show. In a response to one of the show's writers weighing in on rape allegations at UCB, Schumer responded to Kurt Metzger's Facebook rants tweeting these two messages:

"I am so saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger. He is my friend and a great writer and I couldn't be more against his recent actions."

No big deal. He was fired. But then she followed it up with:

"I didn't fire Kurt. He isn't a writer for my show because we aren't making the show anymore. There are no writers for it."

That's a broad, sweeping statement saying that not only is Metzger not on the show, the show is done. But Comedy Central gave the show a fifth season renewal back in January. After she tweeted that, Metzger went back to Facebook with another post kind of apologizing:

"...I was talking to the perennial social media mob who, without knowing victim or accused, GLEEFULLY want to be part of social mob justice. Some of whom are my friends. And I apologize for using the term “lynch mob.” Lynch mobs sometimes actually hang a rapist. This one merely got a rapist banned from a monthly UCB show and then patted themselves on the head. I am always on the side of the VICTIMS, and I felt that this does them a great disservice..." (read the whole thing on Splitsider).

Comedy Central has not confirmed the ending via press release or email confirming. Also note that Schumer writes in her new memoir that she is a victim of sexual assault. I wasn't too into the show but it's weird to see Comedy Central's biggest show leave abruptly and without warning. I wonder how much Metzger's posts affected the show's ending.

In the same vein of news, Cameron Esposito had her own words to say about the whole situation . I found it so strange, too, because I just watched the second episode of Take My Wife and its storyline involved rape jokes/culture.

Amy Schumer doesn't remember Vanessa Bayer in these SNL promos

Amy Schumer is continuing her rising star train this weekend as she prepares for a stint on Saturday Night Live. The comedienne performs the mandatory promos with her Trainwreck co-star Vanessa Bayer. Or was Bayer really in that movie? I think so. I don't remember and neither does Schumer.
