IFC and CollegeHumor really enjoy the comedic stylings of Weird Al Yankovic. The two got together and decided it was best to honor the singer/comedian in some fashion. The only clear answer was to award Yankovic with another music award. And thus, CollegeHumor’s Comedy Music Hall of Fame was born.
Comedy Music Hall of Fame is a new special on IFC set to honor the funnier side of music. Better yet, it's going to be hosted by Paul F. Tompkins (No You Shut Up!, Spontaneanation, With Bob & David). Tompkins will lead viewers through the history of comedy music and also debut the newest music videos from today's comedy music stars. Sketches and interviews will also be a big part of the show with the likes of Tenacious D, Rachel Bloom, Scott Aukerman and more making appearances. Finally, a tribute to Yankovic will be held for his induction. Tears of laughter will probably be abound.
The show will premiere on Friday, June 19, airing on IFC at 10pm CollegeHumor following the broadcast. In the meantime, check out an introduction video from host Tompkins.
