'Bojack Horseman' returns to Netflix in July

The sultry sounds of Will Arnett's voice will return to Netflix super soon. The streaming service announced the second season of Bojack Horseman is coming back with 12 episodes on July 17. Netflix was even gracious enough to include a a description of events in a press release: 

“Will Arnett voices BoJack, the legendary 90’s sitcom star, who has been trying to find his way through a muddle of self-loathing, whisky and failed relationships. Now starring in his dream movie (a biopic of Secretariat), but humbled by the events of last season, BoJack attempts to use his career second wind as a stepladder to a springboard to becoming a newer, better BoJack. But new challenges on set and in his personal life, and the demons of his past make it difficult to shake off the skin of his previous self. If season one of BoJack Horseman is about a character learning he needs to change, the new season is about whether or not he can. It’s a character in a rut, trying to pull out of that rut, and the rut pulling back.

Also, there are lots of surprise guest stars and funny talking animal jokes.”

Will Arnett Sells Parenting Comedy To CBS, Still Not Cancelled Yet

Will Arnett is a busy, busy guy. Only two months after starting his production company Electric Avenue, the comedic actor has sold his first comedy to CBS. Deadline reports that the show is based on Johanna Stein’s book How Not To Calm A Child On A Plane. The show is going to center on "a pair of unconventional parents trying to raise their child according to their own rules, not the rules imposed upon them by society at large."

Stein's book was published earlier this year. It features autobiographical essays that recount the her experiences as a first-time mother. The pilot will be written by Stein herself but probably not in MLA format. Maybe APA. No promises. She will be joined by Suburgatory's Adam Barr. Arnett and Barr are among the show's executive producers.

Arnett is coming off of a Netflix high at the moment due to his success with the show BoJack Horseman. Hopefully, that show bodes well for him too.

 

Judd Apatow Now Has A Show On Netflix, Given Two Season Order

Following success of Arrested Development and BoJack Horseman, Netflix is digging its claws further into the comedy world.

THR reports the red lettered giant has signed up for Judd Apatow's latest comedy. The show was given a first season order set for 10 episodes in 2016 and the second season with 12 2017. The show is called Love and follows "Gus and Mickey, as they navigate the exhilaration and humiliation of intimacy, commitment and other things they were hoping to avoid."

“Judd Apatow has a unique comedic voice that manages to be delightful, insightful, and shockingly frank -- often at the same time,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

The much desired script comes from Apatow himself as well as 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine's' Lesley Arfin and 'Super Fun Night's' Paul Rust who will also star alongside Gillian Jacobs.
