Jo Miller out as "Full Frontal" showrunner, head writer

Jo Miller -- one of the reasons Full Frontal made it to television -- is leaving the TBS late night show. 

Variety reports Miller left the show under her own volition. However, Splitsider writes (via Deadline and The Wrap) that there may have been disagreements between the host and the producer. TBS released a statement in regards to Miller's exit: “Jo is an incredibly talented writer who has played an invaluable role in the creation and success of the Full Frontal with Samantha Bee franchise over the past two years. We are grateful for her contributions and wish her continued success.”

Miller joined Full Frontal host Samantha Bee when the pair left The Daily Show around the same time as each other. Miller's positions included showrunner, head writer and executive producer.

TBS will take a third season of "The Detour" please

Jason Jones and Samantha Bee's TBS comedy has been picked up for a third, twisted season Deadline reports. The Detour -- written and executive produced by the couple -- chronicles a family that gets into incredibly dark situations. The first season had them road tripping to Florida while the second had them settling down in New York, getting caught in US investigations in both. Ratings for The Detour have been stellar with an average of 4.4 million viewers and drawing 1.2 million in the 18-49 demographic. The third season will premiere sometime next year.

Hasan Minhaj will host the Not The White House Correspendents Dinner

It has been said that a handsome man with a beaming smile will host the Not The White House Correspondents Dinner and that man is Hasan Minhaj. The comedian and The Daily Show contributor is tasked with emceeing "Nerd Prom" that is to be thrown by Samantha Bee and TBS. 

“It is a tremendous honor to be a part of such a historic event even though the president has chosen not to attend this year. SAD! Now more than ever, it is vital that we honor the First Amendment and the freedom of the press" said Minhaj on the news.

The regular Correspondents Dinner doesn't look like it's going to happen so Bee proposed this idea on her show months ago. The night is a celebration of first amendment rights and the importance of the media. The Wrap reports that the news was announced on MSNBC's Morning Joe. TBS will air the Not The White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, April 29 at 10 PM.

'The Detour's second season starts in February

People who just can't get enough of that Samantha Bee should be ecited to hear that her show -- co-created with her husband and equally famous person Jason Jones -- The Detour is coming back very soon. The new season will follow the Parkers as they move to New York for a change of scenery. But Robin (Natalie Zea) is harboring some dark secrets from her past. And the kids Jared (Liam Carroll) and Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich) are super awkward in their new school. Guest stars include Laura Benanti, John Oliver, Jeffrey Vincent Parise, James Cromwell, Max Casella, and Samantha Bee herself. The Detour season 2 airs February 21st at 9 PM.

TBS wants Samantha Bee for at least a year and Michelle Wolf is your next Daily Show contributor

Today turned out to be a great day for women in late night as two of the funniest in the business managed to use their comedy chops to high profile jobs. First, it was announced that Samantha Bee's late night series, Full Frontal, was renewed through 2016. A TBS press release stated that the series would have 26 more episodes on top of the thirteen it is already producing. If that doesn't sound so cool, look at John Oliver's Last Week Tonight today which was in a similar situation with HBO last year.

On top of that, Late Night with Seth Meyers writer Michelle Wolf is headed to The Daily Show. Joining Jessica Williams, Jordan Klepper, and a bunch of other funny people, Williams is set to be both a writer and on air contributor. Late night was once a barren wasteland to the female gender but this is a nice leap by today's standards. Let those lady ball hang low, girls!
