Stop me if you've heard this one: two best friends living in the same city go on wacky adventures in that city where they meet all sorts of interesting characters. While the formula is tired, new shows tend to stand out among the others that released years ago. Comedy Central didn't seem to take a chance when it picked up Detroiters but Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson's series is equal parts funny and charming.
Which is why the series was renewed for a second season. The network announced in a press release today that the series would get a sophomore season sometime in 2018. Detroiters takes place in Detroit and follows Sam and Tim playing ad men who just want the city displayed in a positive manner. Comedy Central president Kent Alterman said that the main character's friendship is "goofy" and "infectious." He even cheekily suggests the second season could move to D.C. We've been reviewing Detroiters and find it one of Comedy Central's best offerings.
