Netflix decides it doesn't have enough Ricky Gervais

Boy, Netflix sure does like Ricky Gervais. After airing the presumably final episode of the series Derek, the streaming service is now buying another Gervais joint. Deadline reports Netflix has acquired rights to the movie Special Correspondents, starring Eric Bana and directed by Gervais. It's the latest film to premiere on the streaming service. Bana will reportedly play "a struggling New York-based radio journalist whose arrogance and decadent lifestyle has hindered his career. With his job on the line, he fakes front-line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in the heart of Manhattan." Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos calls Special Correspondents "smart social satire with heart." He should know; it is his job after all. Look for the movie sometime next year.
