'Super Troopers 2' Needs your Help Too, Boo

Rhyming headlines aside, the sequel to the cult classic Super Troopers has entered the mandatory crowd funding phase. Comedy troupe Broken Lizard launched an Indiegogo campaign today to fund the movie's $2 million budget.

Jay Chandrasekhar insists the group is making their perfect version of the film: "...since we refused to write a sequel where the highway cops have morphed into super hero-vampires, Fox Searchlight proposed the following deal: they’ll release the film, but we have to raise all of the money. So we’ve turned to Indiegogo and our fans to prove that it’s finally time for Super Troopers 2 to get made."

The Super Troopers 2pers (not the title) campaign ends April 24 and there are some great benefits. These include Farva's sweet moustache, an invite to the first ever Beerfest Tournament in Chicago (even a battle against the guys), and VIP access to the premiere. 

Patrice O'Neal is 'Better Than You,' Back in Documentary Form

Patrice O'Neal is one of my favorite comics of all time. He has similarly shaped the comedic advancement of many others in the same way with his truthful, straightforward approach standup. His death was a surprise to everyone but now the producers of a documentary based on O'Neal's life have taken to Indiegogo in order to get the film created. Better Than You follows the comedian's career through interviews with family, friends, as well as Bill Burr, Denis Leary, Jim Norton, Colin Quinn, and more. The documentary is being produced by O'Neal's fiance Von Decarlo and Mark Farrell.  Go and donate today to get some neat benefits like attending the premiere and a social media shout out. Help Chris O' Dowd Make Testicles Fly For Charity

The IT Crowd and Bridesmaids star Chris O' Dowd needs your help with putting a pair of testicles in the sky. Yes. A giant sky bound set of testicles. Or as Dowd puts it: "build the world’s biggest—and probably only—pair of flying bollocks!” 

This is in conjunction with the British charity Male Cancer Awareness Campaign to help raise publicity for their newest campaign. Using an Indiegogo page, the two camps hope to bring to light the problem that is testicular cancer. The project's page puts it as men need to check for early signs of male cancers. 

The campaign, affectionately named Skyballs, will use Family Guy's Peter Griffin's chin as the template for the aforementioned manbag. 

Donators can expect prizes like a Peter Griffin chin balls shirt, a flight on the balloon, or a free delivery of you and your best man to your wedding. There are 47 days left and they have $11,169 out of their hopeful $60,000. Donate money here.

Kulap Vilaysack Needs Your Help Funding Her 'Origin Story'

What if you didn't know who your real parents were? How would that affect your life? Would you search for them or let that thought sit in the back of your mind? 

Comedian and podcaster Kulap Vilaysack is answering those very questions with her new documentary Origin Story. Not to go into specifics, the story is that Kulap found out her father wasn't her biological father and now she's searching for her real dad. The trailer, posted below, is endearing and insightful with the comedian doing everything she can to find the man she never knew. 

Origin Story is being produced through crowdfunding. The documentary will take viewers from California to Minnesota all the way to Laos. Interviewees include Sarah Silverman, Casey Wilson, and June Diane Raphael.

Of course there are perks that come with donating to this campaign. Gifts range from a set visit to Always Sunny In Philadelphia (with lunch!) to a guest spot on Comedy Bang Bang! (the podcast or show depending on how much you give). I've already missed the boat on having Casey Wilson life coach me. Damn it.

Many of you may know her as the wife of fellow podcaster Scott Aukerman. Vilaysack stands as one of the funniest in the business. She has her own podcast that she cohosts with Howard Kremer called Who Charted? She has had various appearances on many shows including Happy Endings, The Hotwives of Orlando, and Reno 911.
