Comedy Central wants you to celebrate Christmas with three of its shows

This Christmas, there's going to be a deluge of shows you're probably going to want to catch up on. All of the fall shows on broadcast and cable plus whatever is streaming will be at your finger tips during the one time of the year you have free time. Along with the new stuff to watch, you're most likely going to want to keep to tradition by watching the old Christmas specials of years past. Comedy Central seeks to complicate your free time with new specials from old favorites.

The Daily Show, The President Show and Drunk History will all get brand new holiday specials. Drunk History Christmas Special will air on Tuesday, November 28 at 10:00 p.m. See a description below.

“In the Drunk History Christmas Special, creators Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner bring to life such iconic holiday scenes as George Washington crossing the Delaware River on Christmas Day, a look at the Charles Dickens Christmas classic A Christmas Carol and Teddy Roosevelt’s ban on Christmas trees in the White House. Reenactors include Rob Corddry, Colin Hanks, Ken Marino and Chris Witaske with narrations from Craig Anstett, Rich Fulcher and Phil Hendrie.”

Next is The President Show's special, I Came Up with Christmas: A President Show Christmas. This hour-long holiday special debuts Thursday, November 30 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. See the description below.

“...will feature The 45th and final President of the United States (played by The President Show creator Anthony Atamanuik) alongside the Vice President (played by Peter Grosz) as they celebrate the holiday with a cavalcade of friends old and new in a night of comedy, music, jingle bells, and dog whistles as they try to make this the whitest Christmas ever. ”

Finally, The Daily Show's special comes on Monday, December 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. See the description below.

Comedy Central is bringing some of its shows to New York Comic Con

Comedy Central is no stranger to the festival circuit. They love festivals so much, they started their own. But, with their diverse fanbase and variety of shows, the network is able to reach well into other avenues of entertaining its viewers. All of this is to say that Comedy Central is returning to New York Comic Con. This time, they're bringing along South Park, The President Show, and Drunk History. 

South Park will sport an interactive instillation called “Member Berries Challenge” that will put viewers inside a 3D scene from the Member Berries episode. Fans will be asked three questions as they sit in Sharon and Shelly's chairs. Right answers net you Member Berry and NY Comic-Con exclusive T-shirt but wrong answers will have Randy spit juice from his mouth.

The President Show hosts played by Anthony Atamanuik and Peter Grosz will host a panel to be moderated by Sam Seder. Fans will get behind the scenes of the show as well as participate in a Q&A.

Finally, Drunk History's Derek Waters, Jeremy Konner, and recurring narrators Katie Nolan, Amber Ruffin and Duncan Trussell will participate in a panel that will tell viewers how the narration process works. Jack MacBrayer will moderate.

Comedy Central's "The President Show" is all about our dear leader (UPDATED)

Making fun of our current US president won't stop any time soon. Now, Comedy Central wants to go at it directly with a weekly series. The network announced via press release that their take on our president will come to late night. And they'll also finally have a show take over that coveted 11:30 PM spot following The Daily Show -- if only for one night a week.

Created by and starring president impressionist Anthony Atamanuik, The President Show will be "live from the Oval Office" where he can bypass all the media and their pestering questions. Regular late night tropes will fill up episodes including desk segments, remotes, and interviews with the vice president played by Peter Grosz. Atamanuik is renowned for his take on the president which has earned him a 40 city tour with fellow impressionist James Adomian, performances on several shows like @midnight and The Howard Stern Show, and several festivals.

“Laughing at the President is a proud American tradition and we hope not to disappoint anyone in that department,” Atamanuik said. “But our political system is too broken for us to be content joking about one man, even though he is a disastrous silly little toddler boy. Mostly I’d just like to thank Comedy Central for giving us this platform to speak truth to power and if we’re lucky, end up in prison!”

The announcement of this show follows a stunt pulled on the network last week during an airing of The Daily Show where the broadcast was interrupted. The next day, two mysterious Twitter accounts started teasing the new show. The President Show will begin airing on April 27.
