Big Mouth has been in the works for over a year and it looks like it all paid off. Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg's (Family Guy) series about prepubescent preteens dropping the pre-prefix isn't for the kids it's portraying. The script is very dark -- see the trailer for little boy butt and little girl talking vaginas. But it looks nice. The cast is one of the best on the service with Kroll being joined by Jordan Peele, Jason Mantzoukas, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Jenny Slate, and Jessi Klein. Big Mouth premieres on Friday, September 29th.
Nick Kroll will have his very own cartoon series on Netflix
The Netflix train continues to roll as they add another big time comedian with a show to their bulbous slate of comedian based shows. The streaming platform has greenlit Big Mouth from Kroll Show's title character/creator Nick Kroll. Variety says the show will be a 30 minute "edgy, surreal animated comedy," which describes most of what Kroll usually does. It follows teenagers, Nick and Andrew (Kroll's irl bff and Family Guy writer/producer Andrew Goldberg) who are on the cusp of puberty. John Mulaney is said to actually voice the character of Andrew however. Of course, other comedians are joining the voice cast including Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein. Big Mouth will scream its first ten episodes on Netflix in 2017.
