Sandler. Rock. Smigel. Never have those words been in the same sentence...until today. Adam Sandler and Chris Rock's next movie will be one of Sandler's Netflix deals. What's more is that the movie will be directed by Robert Smigel (Triumph the Insult Comic Dog voice/puppeteer). Sandler and Smigel wrote the movie -- The Week Of -- together and there's also a synopsis. The movie follows the week leading up to the wedding of Sandler's daughter and Rock's son. Production starts in Long Island this summer. Deadline reports that this is the fourth part of the first deal that Sandler and Netflix struck. The two four more after a new deal was set months ago.
Chris Rock will definitely, totally host the Oscars again says the Academy
Chris Rock is hosting the Oscars for the second time ever the Academy confirms. This is following yesterday's speculation that the comedian was in talks for the job. He joins the show's new producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin the latter of whom he became friends with working on the pilot for Everybody Hates Chris. “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” Rock said in a statement. “It’s great to be back.” The Oscars are set to take place on February 28, 2016. Rock last hosted in 2005.
Amy Schumer is 'Live at the Apollo' in this teaser for her HBO special
Amy Schumer is hot right now. She's got one of the biggest comedy shows, a well done movie, and now she's headed to HBO with her very own special. Titled Live At The Apollo, Schumer's special is an hour long joke extravaganza that is also directed by fellow comedian Chris Rock. HBO's specials are always great so this one looks to be within that parameter. Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo premieres on HBO on October 17th at 10 PM.
Chris Rock & Bobby Moynihan Hit the Streets in these SNL Promos
I'm just going to come out and say it. This week's episode of SNL is going to be the best one this season. There's nothing better than when a real comedian comes by the studio. It's even better when a musical icon like Prince is there to do an extended set. I expect SNL to embrace the full weirdness that will happen on Saturday. Check out these promos and listen to these women scream for the man that once sang "Purple Rain." Also, Bobby Moynihan sure does look super nervous for some reason.
Chris Rock and Prince are Coming to SNL
Former cast member Chris Rock and artist formally known as Prince are formalizing at Saturday Night Live on November 1. Twitter brought us the news although I can't see how it knew before we did. This is only the second time that Rock has hosted. In 1996, following his 1990-1993 stint on the show as a cast member, the comedian took the stage with musical guest the Wallflowers. Rock comes after Jim Carrey who is hosting on October 25th with that fancy Iggy Azalea.
