Amazon may not be the preferred streaming option for most people, but it sure does have the exclusives to back up its business. It's offerings include lauded dramas like The Man In The High Castle, Mozart In The Jungle, and Bosch but its comedies are just as well received. Head of Half Hour Programming for Amazon Joe Lewis said that the company is launching four comedy series (both new and old) in September to make it "comedy month" during the summer TCAs yesterday.

September will see the premiere of Tig Notaro's One Mississippi on the 9th as well as Woody Allen's Crisis in Six Scenes on the 30th. The former stars Notaro and follows her career after her mother passed away and the comedian was struck with a myriad of diseases. The latter series stars Allen, Miley Cyrus and Elaine May in a six episode show about a family in the 60's as they're visited by a a guest who changes their world. Comedy month will also have the premiere of Fleabag from Phoebe Waller-Bridge on the 16th and the less funny, more sad Transparent season three on the 23rd. There is still no word on the remake of The Tick.

Amazon also announced the fate of the John Goodman led Alpha House. The series had two seasons before going off the internet airwaves in 2014. It's been in limbo since then but Amazon Studio chief Roy Price announced during Amazon's TCA conference that the show is "not a current show," citing that current political climates may affect whether or not the show comes back. Price told the press that he likes to leave his options open.
