It's almost a step to the next level when a comedian writes their own book. Even Kevin Hart and Amy Schumer are cashing in on their fame to sell paperbacks. Ali Wong is just the latest standup to feel the itch. But she's taking things on a little more differently. Wong, who recently had a child and did the first (?) ever pregnant stand up special -- Baby Cobra on Netflix -- is writing an advice book to her one year old daughter.
Coming out in 2018 via Random House, EW says the book comes in letter format which will provide common advice on finding true love, failure, and Wong's journey into stand up. Wong says that the book is about her life offstage, adding that she has a lot of stories to tell that won't fit in her regular joke set.
