Showtime's new comedies "White Famous" and "SMILF" get premiere dates and trailers

Showtime might not be known as the king of half hour comedy shows but at least its trying. The premium cable network is set to premiere two new comedies to its slate this season. 

Deadline reports White Famous is coming on Sunday, October 15 at 10 PM. The show comes from Jamie Foxx and will star Jay Pharaoh as Floyd Mooney. He tries to relate to his black audiences as his fame grows broader. Californication creator Tom Kapinos and director Tim Story are also along for the ride. Foxx will play a recurring role.

The second series, SMILF, airs on November 5 at 10 PM. It stars Frankie Shaw and follows experiences from her life. She plays a young mother who wants to continue dating, sex and a working relationship. Shaw will direct and produce on top of starring. The show comes from Shaw's Sundance Film Festival Jury Award-winning short film. Rosie O’Donnell will co-star.

Jamie Foxx is going to be ‘White Famous’ on Showtime

Showtime is getting into business with Jamie Foxx. The singer/rapper/actor is going to add executive producing to his racket as the network picked up his new show White Famous. The show is only on pilot order but Foxx is also said to have a recurring role. The Hollywood Reporter says the show follows “a talented, young African-American comedian whose star is rising, forcing him to navigate the treacherous waters of maintaining his credibility as he begins to cross-over toward becoming “white famous.”

Cameron Diaz to Return to SNL Too

Yes Woody Harrelson is coming back to host SNL next week but the ageless beauty of Cameron Diaz is returning too.

Two days after the announcement of one 90's host, we are treated to another. The Shrek the Halls and Being John Malkovich star first hosted in 1998 when Will Ferrell and Tim Meadows were members or when I was about five. Man. Those were the days. 

This will be Diaz's fourth time hosting the late night sketch series. Her episode is set for November 22 with musical guests Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson.

This is most likely to promote Annie which comes out on December 19. Here's hoping for a Jamie Foxx appearance. God, do I love that man.

Horrible Bosses 2 Trailer: The Boys Are Back In Town

A comedy movie based on murdering bosses has only worked on the first Weekend At Burnies. But this is a time in cinema where we get sequels, even if we don't need, or necessarily want, them. The gang (Sudekis, Day and Batemen) is all here including Kevin Costner, Jamie Foxx, and Jennifer Aniston (sans Colin Farrell). This time, the fellas are starting their own business but are fooled by an investor played by Christoph Waltz. They devise a plan to kidnap his son, Chris Pine, for ransom. 

Horrible Bosses 2 is set to come out November 26.
