Your childhood continues to be ripe for TV show adaptations as ABC reaches way back to the 60's for a take on The Jetsons. But this new version will be live action. ABC is so confident in the project, it ordered the series with a put pilot commitment.

Variety says this new Jetsons will be vastly different from the original. For one, it'll be live action and set 100 years in the futre. And it'll also be a multicam. Yes. It'll be a straight up Friends-style comedy with 99 people watching in the audience.

Robert Zemeckis is executive producing the show. Gary Janetti is set to write and executive produce it. No one knows why the series will be multicam. This isn't the first time The Jetsons has been attempted to be turned into a series. It won't be the last either.

ABC won't be the only network with a puppet show on the air come 2016; NBC is preparing a pilot that will feature some less famous felt stars. Deadline reports the Gary Janetti created Bumbleberry Lane was given a pilot commitment. The show will be a single camera workplace comedy -- much like The Muppets -- and will "be set behind the scenes of a racially diverse, politically correct children’s puppet program where everyone and everything is incredibly, politically incorrect..." much like The Muppets. But fear not for this show will be more in relation to The Larry Sanders Show and Fox's Greg the Bunny. So expect all the cursing and sex you'd see in a TV-MA show hidden behind the gaze of a TV-G show. However, can primetime handle two puppet shows?
