Damon Wayans Jr. will star in that Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg FX sci-fi comedy pilot

New Girl Coach lovers and fans of Happy Endings in general will be happy to know that Damon Wayans Jr. is going to take on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's next television series, The Hollywood Reporter writes. Singularity has been in the works for over a year now but the FX comedy was picked up to pilot this past August. Wayans' role will be Doug, "a guy who loves to be in the moment and is often dressed in Yezzy streetwear" in the series that is set in the future where AI has gone beyond conventional human knowledge. 

Sonny Lee (Silicon Valley) will write the script and executive produce with Goldberg and Rogen's Point Grey. This marks their fifth pilot for next season including Hulu's Future Man starring Josh Hutcherson as well as two other shows for Fox and ABC.

Fox comedy pilot to be directed by ABC sitcom veteran

The wingspan of Modern Family knows no bounds. Steve Levitan (co-creator to the hit ABC series) is directing a pilot for Fox called LAX -> Vegas. Coming from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Superstore producer, Lon Zimmet, the show is a workplace comedy set on the Friday night and returning Sunday flight to and from Los Vegas. Some underachievers decide to try to win big in the neon city.

The pilot was bought as a spec last summer, writes Deadline, and now it's one of the "hottest" pilots this season. Damon Wayans Jr. is said to also be attached. Gary Sanchez Productions -- which includes the likes of Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy -- will aid in producing.
