TBS -- the new cable king of comedy -- recently announced premiere dates for its shows new and old. Cop comedy procedural Angie Tribeca has been renewed for a forth season. And new shows The Last O.G., Drop the Mic, and the returning Search Party premiere in October and November. This all comes via Splitsider.
"Angie Tribeca" returns to TBS in April
TBS's hit crime spoof Angie Tribeca is coming back on April 10th. The show starring Rashida Jones, Hayes MacArthur, Deon Cole, Jere Burns and Andree Vermeulen is set to take its crew from swamp lands to space in a new promo. Season three's big arc looks to be about a serial killer (for whom Tribeca begins to develop feelings). Guest stars will include Chris Pine, Natalie Portman, Niecy Nash, Jessica St. Clair, Jack McBrayer, John Michael Higgins, Rob Riggle, Rachel Dratch, Ed Helms, Ernie Hudson, Michaela Watkins, and Rob Huebel.
TBS will do another marathon of one of its newest shows
Taking a cue from themselves, TBS is set to do a full season premiere marathon of its newest series Search Party. The first show they've done this type of guerrilla advertising with Steve and Nancy Carrell's Angie Tribeca. The only difference is that, unlike Tribeca's 24 hour marathon, Search Party will be aired all week long with two new episodes each night. Search Party stars Alia Shawkat who reconnects with her colleged aged friends after they find out that one of their own has disappeared. The show has been billed as a serialized mystery dark comedy so it should hit the same notes as Angie Tribeca.
