Everyone's favorite comedian from the 90's isn't as big as he used to be. Still, Jim Carrey is one of the funniest talents around. Showtime first took notice in Carrey with his show I'm Dying Up Here which is vaguely based on every comedian's experience with the storied LA based Comedy Store. They renewed that show just last week too.
Now, Carrey's latest show is headed to the same network. What's more, he's actually starring in this one. Variety reports Carrey will headline a new half hour titled Kidding. Carrey takes on the role of Jeff "a.k.a. Mr. Pickles, an icon of children’s television, who also anchors a multimillion dollar branding empire. But when his family begins to implode, Jeff finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through this crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope."
Ten episodes have been ordered for the first season. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry will direct the series. Writer Dave Holstein created the series, pens the pilot and will serve as showrunner. Jason Bateman joins as executive producer too
